Autodesk announced today the availability of a new offering, Autodesk Inventor Fusion for Mac. Inventor Fusion is a new, Mountain Lion-compatible 3D CAD modeling program that allows designers to create, explore, and share complex shapes and forms. Autodesk also announced a new update to AutoCAD WS for iOS, Android, and web browsers.
Inventor Fusion allows users to generate 2D layouts and then directly model in three dimensions atop those models. Inventor Fusion is a history-free 3D design tool, which should allow for new users to more easily pick up the software.
Users can take advantage of real-time visualization features, allowing them to navigate designs. The software also features flexible assembly structures, allowing for users to change designs as they see fit. Inventor Fusion also takes advantage of Autodesk’s cloud storage solution, allowing them to store and share designs across Autodesk 360 on multiple devices.
For Mountain Lion, the software now integrates Notification Center capabilities, AirPlay Mirroring, and the sharing features built into Apple’s new OS. Autodesk Inventor Fusion is available for free in the Mac App Store.
Today’s AutoCAD WS mobile app update integrates a new Design Feed feature that allows users to post information to a particular area in a design in order to encourage discussion. It also includes the ability for users to add photos to their drawings. The app is available for free in both Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store.
