The phone will have a dual-core, 1.5GHz CPU, eight-megapixel camera, Super AMOLED touchscreen, NFC with Android Beam, and Android 4.0 preloaded.
A successor, the Galaxy Note 2, with its larger 5.5-inch screen, may arrive in stores as soon as October after making its debut at the IFA show in August.
