A previously unannounced black variant of the Samsung Galaxy S III appears to be on the way, as a picture of the device has popped up on Samsung’s Facebook page. The device has also — as Android Police found out — shown up in a product listing for the retailer Carphone Warehouse. Samsung has already released a red version of its flagship smartphone, though the company has as yet given no word on this model.
The image on Samsung’s Facebook page appears to show off a black version of the S III, though there appears to be some blue coloration on the device, which could be an artifact of poor color correction. Alternately, the image on Samsung’s page could be one of the pebble blue S III, albeit an image with sizable color distortion.
Less ambiguous, however, is a product listing from Carphone Warehouse. That listing, apparently taken from a retail POS unit, lists a black S III along side blue and white versions of the handset.
The Galaxy S III has gone on to considerable popularity since Samsung introduced it earlier this year. The device is now available at a significant discount at a number of retailers, though there is no indication as yet whether the new black variant will be included in such discounts.
