Optoma’s HD20 is a DLP-based unit is one of the first ever to produce a 1080p image for just $999.
It can project an large image, up to 120 inches across, without losing detail. Even at that size the HD20 is claimed to have a 4,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,700 lumens of brightness. The projector has two HDMI ports and a VGA connector which supports most common computer display resolutions. Component and RCA jacks give analog sources direct input as well.
Optoma hasn’t said how soon the HD20 will ship but expects it to be ready at several online retailers.
