TNT’s upcoming pilot, The Last Ship, has found its first crew member. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane will play Commander Tom Chanler in the Platinum Dunes-produced show, officially described as follows:
In this exciting action/adventure project based on the popular novel by William Brinkley, the crew of a naval destroyer is forced to confront the reality of a new existence when a pandemic decimates most of the earth’s population.
Dane has appeared on the big screen in projects like Marley & Me and Burlesque.
