A ton of Android users love Swype. The swipe to type QWERTY is available directly from the developer or as a pre-installed app on many Android models.
Swype has now been given an beta updated by Nuance Communications and includes a new Dictionary backup and sync which will save your personal dictionary to the cloud so that it will automatically be available for you to use on any registered phone or tablet. Speaking of tablets, Swype offers three layouts for them. One is the original Swype layout, another is a smaller movable QWERTY while a third offers a split layout.
One of the best new features on Swype is Hotwords. Swype users can opt-in to have their dictionary updated with the hottest trending words. Also available will be themes for Swype. Ten different choices are available to allow you to customize your QWERTY. Lastly, the update brings support for other languages. The Chinese keyboard has an additional tool bar and a Flick keyboard has been added for the Japanese language. Swype expects to allow more languages to use the Advanced Language Models that predict the words and phrases that users Swype the most.
The updated version of Swype will work even if you already have an older version of the app installed on your phone or tablet.
