Apple delivered another update to the Podcasts app for the iOS. The v1.1.2 update addresses “additional stability and performance improvements,” over its predecessors and adds a few new features. A “Top stations” feature has been added, allowing users to download and play the most popular podcasts organized by topic automatically.
An outstanding flaw has been fixed, in which previously played or deleted episodes reappear as new. Tapping a podcast in Top Stations now reveals episodes you can play. The settings menu now allows users to easily turn on automatic downloads for all subscribed podcasts.
As with previous updates to the app, some users are reporting problems, including crashes and freezing necessitating a device reboot. One user-suggested solution which seems to have rectified the problem for some users is to delete the app and its data and redownload it, performing a new installation of the troubled app in the process.
