Research In Motion today relaunched the web version of its application store with the new name “BlackBerry World.” The revised storefront simplifies the look and feel, making it easier to browse and search for content.
Beginning today, the web store can be used to download and install apps, and RIM said music and video content will be added later. RIM plans to update the device-based BlackBerry World experience, too, beginning with PlayBook tablets and eventually its BlackBerry smartphones. RIM is relaunching its BlackBerry smartphone platform on January 30, where the first new BlackBerry 10 handsets will be revealed.
