Another star has been added to the ever-growing cast of the soon-to-shoot comedy Birdman. Deadline brings word that Andrea Riseborough has signed on to play the part of Laura. She joins Zach Galifianakis, Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Edward Norton and Naomi Watts in the Alejandro Gonzalez Inaritu (Amores Perros, Babel) film.
Co-written by Inaritu with Armando Bo, Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone, Birdman follows an actor famous for having once played a popular superhero over a three day period during which he makes an attempt to mount a Broadway play.
Riseborough, best known for roles in films like Happy Go Lucky and Never Let Me Go, can soon be seen on the big screen in Eran Creevy’s Welcome to the Punch and Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion.
Inaritu will produce Birdman alongside Robert Graf and John Lesher with production planned to begin later this month.
