It has been more than two years after the first trailer came out for X-Men spin-off The New Mutants and we know we will get another one next week.
We learned of the new trailer in a surprising reveal from director Josh Boone. Boone helmed the film which was to originally open in April 2018, but a combination of the Disney-Fox merger and rumors of issues behind-the-scenes – including disagreements over tone – had essentially shelved the project.
Rumors of reshoots didn’t seem to happen, while Disney execs stayed fast to the party line that New Mutants would see a theatrical release and wouldn’t be dumped on their new streaming service.
Now New Mutants is on track for an April opening, and a series of Twitter exchanges Boone has had in recent days indicates this will be his original vision of the film, no major changes!
We should find out more in he coming weeks ahead of the film’s opening in early April.
What I’d tell ya, New Mutants will be Boone’s version https://t.co/yeWAueJOfL pic.twitter.com/DJZrFOmwl6
