PowerColor’s Radeon RX Vega 64 Red Devil graphics card has bee the subjects of web leaks last week but now we know it is real. The card is now available to pre-order at OverclockersUK for £590. We have not seen a US seller taking pre-orders yet.
The Radeon RX Vega 64 Red Devil is a custom cooled card with a factory overclock. PowerColor uped the GPU clock to 1,417MHz with a 1,607MHz boost clock. The AMD reference clocks are 1,247MHz base and 1,546MHz boost. For liquid cooled cards, AMD’s reference is 1,406MHz base and a 1,677MHz boost.
The cooling solution looks to be very strong, so worries of not hitting and maintaining the boost clock settings due thermal throttling should be a minimal.
“The better cooling the GPU receives, the longer it can maintain its boost clocks. The cooling of the Powercolor Radeon RX Vega 64 Devil 8G is provided by a tri-fan cooler design. The fan is located in the rear of the card and draws air out of the case, which is then blown over the PCB and out,” PowerColor explains. “The advantage of this style of cooling is that warm air is exhausted directly out of the case.”
PowerColor’s new card is a limited edition model with with an aluminum shroud than the standard plasti).
The card packs three DisplayPort 1.4 outputs and a single HDMI output. That eqis one more DisplayPort and one less HDMI port than Radeon RX Vega 64 cards that stick with AMD’s reference design. To power the card, you will need a pair of 8-pin PCIe connectors for your PSU.
