Separate to a new project he’s working on with Tilda Swinton, filmmaker Jim Jarmusch is set to follow-up 2016’s Paterson with something unexpected – a follow-up to cult classic “Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai”.
Rapper/actor and occasional filmmaker RZA recently spoke with Telerama (via The Playlist) and confirmed a Ghost Dog sequel is currently in formative stages:
“Jim Jarmusch, my good buddy, and Forest Whitaker, have both signed on with me and another writer named Dallas Jackson, to executive produce another ‘Ghost Dog.’ And we already have something written. So maybe ‘Ghost Dog’ will make its way back to the silver screen, or small screen.”
RZA both had a role and created the score for the original film and, from the sounds of it, this follow-up to the story of a mafia hit man who follows a samurai code could be coming to television as opposed to the cineplex. No word yet if Forest Whitaker might reprise his role.
