Samsung’s SMX-F34 Camcorder Wins 2009 TIPA Award

Samsung’s YouTube compatible SMX-F34 has received a 2009 TIPA Award, honored as the Best Entry Level Camcorder. The TIPA Awards, presented by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA), which recognizing the world-™s best digital imaging products each year.

“This is one of the most prestigious recognitions a manufacturer serving the digital imaging industry can receive,” said Sang Ryong Kim, Senior Vice President of Camcorder Business Team at Samsung Electronics. “It-™s an honor to have such an esteemed panel recognize the SMX-F34 as the best in its class.”

The SMX-F34 offers users battery life of up to three hours, Schneider optics, as well as added features and functionality including built-in memory, digital still photo capability, and Samsung-™s 42x Intelli-Zoom.   Samsung-™s new Intelli-Zoom (digital) allows users to go beyond the camcorder-™s 34x optical zoom without sacrificing image quality.

The SMX-F34 features a memory card slot for SD/SDHC and 16GB of internal flash memory. The camcorder can shoot up to eight hours of standard definition video when using the 16GB built-in memory due to the use H.264 compression.

TIPA is a non-profit association comprised of 29 members representing photo and imaging magazines from 13 countries. TIPA Awards have been awarded to imaging products in various categories since 1991. Categories include DSLR, compact point-and-shoots, printers, software, and more. TIPA editors take into account innovation, the use of leading-edge technology, design and ergonomics, ease-of-use, as well as price/performance ratio when judging products.

Award winners were announced today on the Association-™s website, www.tipa.com.
