50 Cent has formally launched his own brand of designer headphones in conjunction with his SMS Audio company, which bought KonoAudio last summer to aid in the manufacturing process. Select retailers are now taking pre-orders for the headphones, which come in wireless and wired varieties with an earbud model to follow soon.
The line will consist of three models, each of which is available in white, black or electric blue. The Sync by 50 headphones ($400) can connect up to four sets to a single audio source (an iPhone or other smartphone) from up to 50 feet away via a headphone jack attachment.
The Street by 50 model ($300) is identical except that it is wired. The Street name will also be used for the (wired) earbud version ($130), which is expected to ship later in the year. The Sync and Street headphones have an expected ship date of December 5th.
The wired over-the-ear Street headphones feature a detachable cord and enhanced bass, with memory foam on the earpads. The wireless Sync model features earcup controls. All models are said to offer an ergonomic design for optimal fit and professional tuning.
