Donna and Kelly will be back together again! ABC Family officially announced on Monday (Oct. 7) that Jennie Garth will be joining her former “Beverly Hills 90210” co-star Tori Spelling in the network’s comedy pilot, “Mystery Girls.”
The comedy follows former starlet Holly (Spelling) who is roped into solving crimes with her former mystery TV show co-star Charlie (Garth) when a witness to a crime will only speak to the infamous ‘Mystery Girls,’ which was the highest rated program of the ’90s. Holly, desperate to regain her former fame, plans to resurrect her life by using her acting skills and crime “experience” to open a detective agency. However, she has to get Charlie, now a suburban housewife and mother, on board with her plan.
Besides co-starring, both Spelling and Garth will serve as executive producers, alongside Maggie Malina (“Single Ladies”). Spelling developed the story with Shepard Boucher (“Men at Work”), who wrote the pilot. “Mystery Girls” is schedule to shoot in November.
