J.C. Chandor’s intense drama A Most Violent Year has just revealed a new poster as well as a behind-the-scenes featurette exploring the film’s unusual look at the intangible notion of the American Dream. Check out the featurette, dubbed “The Cost of Doing Business,” in the player below with the new poster directly underneath.

Set during the winter of 1981 — statistically one of the most crime-ridden of New York City’s history — A Most Violent Year stars Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Inside Llewyn Davis), two-time Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain (The Help, Zero Dark Thirty), David Oyelowo (Interstellar, Selma) and Albert Brooks (Finding Nemo, Drive). Chandor, whose credits include Academy Award nominated films Margin Call and All is Lost, writes and directs the story that follows the lives of an immigrant and his family as they attempt to capitalize on the American Dream, while the rampant violence, decay, and corruption of the day drag them in and threaten to destroy all they have built.

A Most Violent Year‘s limited run begins in New York and Los Angeles December 31 with plans to expand in early 2015.
