With Insidious Chapter 2 currently number one at the box office (having already grossed more than $42 million), Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Pictures is getting ready to launch a new potential franchise. Deadline reports that the production company has just signed Aaron Eckhart to headline Incarnate with Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) directing.
Scripted by Ronnie Christensen (Dark Tide), Incarnate follows an exorcist (Eckhart) who comes up against an evil from his past when he uses his supernatural skills to enter the subconscious of a nine-year-old boy.
Eckhart, who starred earlier this year in Erased and Olympus Has Fallen, can next be seen headlining I, Frankenstein.
Blum will produce Incarnate with Trevor Engelson, Couper Samuelson and Michael Seitzman executive producing.
