Sony is treating Aaron Sorkin its top choice for writing the upcoming Steve Jobs movie, the Los Angeles Times reports. The paper’s information is said to come from an anonymous source briefed on the film. Sorkin has allegedly been considering the job, but as of yesterday had not made a decision.
The writer and producer may have been picked partly because of his involvement on The Social Network, a fictionalized portrayal of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Sorkin is moreover said to have known Jobs, who at one point approached him to write a Pixar movie, which he rejected saying he didn’t think he could “make inanimate objects talk.” Sorkin is also known for his work on movies like Moneyball and Charlie Wilson’s War, as well TV Shows The West Wing and Sports Night.
