ABC has formally pulled the plug on the midseason drama project “Members Only.”
The project, a co-production of ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios, was picked up in January with a straight to series order. It was billed as an “Upstairs, Downstairs”-esque vehicle revolving around a Connecticut country club. John Stamos, Betsy Brandt and Boris Kodjoe were among the ensemble cast.
“Members Only” was originally set to mark director David O. Russell’s TV debut, but he left the project about a month after the series was picked up. Susannah Grant wrote the pilot script and was an exec producer with Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly.
The pilot was shot this past spring, directed by R.J. Cutler, but no other episodes had lensed. ABC had not set a premiere date beyond its midseason designation.
