Acer has announced the newest Ultrabook off of its production lines, the Timeline Ultra M5 series. The 0.81-inch aluminum alloy laptop comes with an optical drive, a choice of Intel Core-series processors, in a 14- or 15.6-inch display form factor.
Depending on configuration, the Timeline Ultra M5 is equipped with a Sandy Bridge i3 processor running at 1.5GHz, or the Ivy Bridge i5 with speeds up to 2.6Ghz. All models come equipped with two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, a 500GB hard drive with 20GB integrated SSD, a DVD-RW drive, Intel Anti-Theft technology, Acer “clear.fi” media management, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and a backlit keyboard. RAM default configuration is 4GB, with upgrades up to 8GB available.
The 14-inch models use either the Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics or the NVidia GeForce GT 640M LE dedicated graphics chipset with 1GB of dedicated VRAM. All 15.6-inch models have the 640M installed. Both the 14- and 15.6-inch models have a display resolution of 1366×768.
Prices on the new model of Ultrabook range from $680 to $830. All configurations will be available in the end of June.
