Amazon has just announced that starting June 27, “concept videos” can be submitted and evaluated for a development option by Amazon Studios. These short films are meant to present a compelling idea for a commercial, theatrical film.
The films should be 2-15 minutes in length. The process works just as script submission does on Amazon Studios: Creators can submit publicly or privately, a 45-day option period ensues, and creators of projects accepted for the development slate will receive $10,000 in compensation.
The Studios’ current development slate is here.
Amazon recently launched a free tool for screenwriters to digitally storyboard their work for review. The company also has plenty going on in the world of original content series development — their first drama TV show pilot for “Bosch,” based on Michael Connelly’s detective series, has been announced.
