AMC has ordered a second season of “Game of Arms,” the unscripted series revolving around underground arm-wrestling competitions. Series bowed in February and delivered respectable numbers for the cabler in its weeknight time slot, averaging 747,000 viewers across its initial 10-episodes.
Eliot Goldberg, AMC’s senior VP of unscripted programming, called “Arms” a “defining unscripted” series for the cabler thanks to its “cinematic look, raw intensity, and fascinating view of a little-known subculture.”
AMC has ordered 10 more hourlong episodes. “Arms” hails from Undertow Films and is exec produced by Matt Renner, Ethan Prochnik and Dan Ilani.
The cabler has three more unscripted entries on tap for next year: “All-Star Celebrity Bowling,” adapted from Chris Hardwick’s web series; an untitled wrestling docudrama spearheaded by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan; and “Visionaries,” about a scenery design firm in Hollywood.
