The Universal Monsterverse is about to get rebooted with the Alex Kurtzman-helmed The Mummy leading the charge, landing in theaters June 9, 2017. The second new Universal Monsters movie, however, is still a mystery and will now be arriving slightly later than originally planned. Originally scheduled for theaters on March 30, 2018, the unidentified feature will now debut April 13, 2018. The new date moves the franchise release away from the March 30 release of Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One to a weekend that, at the moment, has no competition.

Although the mystery Universal Monsters movie has not yet revealed its title, it’s a likely bet that it will be a new take on The Invisible Man. Such a project is confirmed to be in development at the studio with the recent news that Johnny Depp has plans to play the film’s visibly-challenged protagonist. Other Universal Monsters movies are in the works, too, however, including a new take on The Wolfman.

The Mummy boasts a screenplay by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) and stars Sofia Boutella as the title monster with Tom Cruise set to play a mystery role.

Fargo executive producer Noah Hawley is also said to be writing another one of the films in the series, with Prisoners scribe Aaron Guzikowski penning the reboot of The Wolfman.

Ready Player One, meanwhile, is based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller of the same name. The big screen version is set to star Olivia Cooke (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Bates Motel) and Ben Mendelsohn (Mississippi Grind, The Dark Knight Rises).
