Andi Matichak (Orange Is the New Black, Underground) has been cast in David Gordon Green and Danny McBride’s Halloween, according to Deadline. The Blumhouse and Universal Pictures production also stars Judy Greer (Jurassic World, 13 Going On 30) and Jamie Lee Curtis (A Fish Called Wanda, Halloween). Andi Matichak will play Allyson, the daughter of Greer’s character.
Andi Matichak is known for playing the role of role of Meadow in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black along with Miss Jubilee in the WGN series Underground, and Kayla Shepard in the recently-completed film Replicate.
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. Judy Greer plays Karen Strode, the daughter of Curtis’ character.
Curtis’ character was unceremoniously killed off in Halloween: Resurrection in 2002, but in true sprit of the Halloween franchise, the film will be ignoring the continuity of many of the sequels. Curtis has been in four films in the series, including the 1978 original, its 1981 sequel, 1998’s Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, and Resurrection.
Master of horror John Carpenter will executive produce and serve as creative consultant on this film, joining forces withJason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity).
