When Warner Bros. Pictures announced last Friday evening that the studio was pushing back Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman from a July 17, 2015 release to May 6, 2016, they also said that they were moving Joe Wright’s Peter Pan movie into the July 17 slot.
We didn’t think other studios would pass up the opportunity to take that date as well, however, and that is exactly what happened today, as Marvel Studios announced that director Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man has been moved up two weeks from July 31, 2015 to July 17, 2015.
Recent Ant-Man announcements include the casting of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.
Ant-Man going up against Peter Pan is not the only competition between Warner Bros. and Marvel Studios. Batman vs. Superman‘s move to May 6, 2016 put it up against a yet-to-be-titled Marvel film as well.
