Apple has added data concerning the availability of public bicycle-sharing services to Apple Maps.
The data comes from Ito World and congregates the availability and location of bikes and docking stations for 176 bike share systems in 179 cities around the world. Ito World says it launched its public data set late last year and claims it is the first worldwide feed concerning global bike sharing programs.
By incorporating this data, Apple Maps users will be able to discover the availability of bikes such as Citi Bike in New York City, Bicing in Barcelona, Santander Cycles in London, Ford Go Bike in San Francisco, and many more.
The details are surfaced by searching for “bike sharing” within Apple Maps.
