Apple and Barclaycard have partnered on new credit card that grants users Apple Store gift cards. The Barclaycard Visa with Apple Rewards gets users a $25 card for every 2,500 points earned. In the past Apple only offered the Barclaycard iTunes Rewards Visa Card, which earned Mac buyers credit towards purchases at the iTunes Store.
Another perk associated with both cards is no-interest financing on purchases made from Apple within the first 30 days of activation. The company has dropped price requirements though, offering six months without interest on purchases below $498, 12 months for products between $499 and $998, and 18 months on goods costing $999 or more. Previously, the 18-month promotion required spending over $1,999.
The new card generates three points per dollar spent at the Apple Store, two points at restaurants, and one point on all other purchases. The iTunes card, by contrast, simply offered two points per dollar at the iTunes Store and one point for all other categories.
