Apple has released iOS version 8.1. The system update, for iPhones and iPads, activates Apple Pay and fixes a number of bugs.
Apply Pay is Apple’s mobile payment system. It makes use of the NFC radio and Touch ID sensor on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to enable tap-and-go payments at participating retailers.
iPads can use Apple Pay to make in-app purchases. iOS 8.1 also provides access to iCloud Photo Library beta, and adds support for SMS messaging on the iPad and Mac computers.
