Apple has acknowledged a problem with its iMessage service that is disrupting message delivery.
The problem occurs on devices running iOS 7. It first indicates that messages have been successfully delivered, but then later shows messages as unsent. “We are aware of an issue that affects a fraction of a percent of our iMessage users, and we will have a fix available in an upcoming software update,” said Apple in a statement provided to the Wall Street Journal.
“In the meantime, we encourage any users having problems to reference our troubleshooting documents or contact AppleCare to help resolve their issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes impacted users.” Restarting the device or turning iMessage off temporarily resolves the issue.
