Apple has silently added two new app channels to the Apple TV interface. The first, PBS, grants access to some of the public broadcaster’s TV shows. Yahoo Screen incorporates live news, events, and music, as well as original Yahoo programs, and content from third parties like The Daily Show, ABC News, and Saturday Night Live.
During the past year, Apple has been accelerating the amount of content available through the Apple TV. Some additions include HBO, ESPN, Vevo, Sky News, iMovie Theater, and several Disney channels. Apple hasn’t delivered on a rumored hardware refresh, however; it’s thought that within the next few months, the set-top could get improvements like a faster processor and/or HDMI 2.0 support.
