The latest ASUS gaming notebook has slipped into the US thanks to ExcaliberPC, a US-based Asustek reseller. The G74 is a quad-core rig equipped with cutting-edge hardware designed to power through the latest games. At its heart lies an Intel Core i7 2630QM Sandy Bridge processor that can be matched with up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM. Graphics are courtesy of NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 560M with 3GB of GDDR5 VRAM.
The G74 also includes two hard drive bays allowing users to fit both an SSD and a spinning hard drive. Gaming-quality sound is provided be THX TruStudio, delivered through 2.1-speaker arrangement. Its 17.3-inch display can be had in either 2D or a 120Hz 3D display with NVIDIA Vision 3D glasses depending on whether the G74SX-A1 is chosen or the G74SX-3DE.
The G74SX-A1 and the G74SX-3DE are priced at $1,745 and $1979 and come with a backpack and gaming mouse. They should be shipping by June 28
