Asus has set the ROG Phone 2’s launch for July 23, the event will be held in Beijing, China.
The invitation is a highly stylized version of the Republic of Gamers logo, and indicates the launch will be held with Tencent. The street has been full of rumors regarding an Asus partnership with the internet giant for months now.
Asus has already said the screen on the new phone will have a 120Hz refresh rate – the first phone has a 90Hz screen. Most believe a Tencent game which be featured at the launch event which supports 120Hz, making the gaming power house of the first first to take advantage of the technology.
It is unknown at this time if Asus will use a “binned” Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, like it did with the first version of the phone. Using the binned Snapdragon 845 in the first model, gave the more power than phones using the regular Snapdragon 845. Also unknown what cooling system and cameras the phone will sport.
