Belkin has launched a new line of wireless home theater products. The ScreenCast AV 4 Wireless AV-to-HDTV Adapter F7D4515 allows up to four home theater devices to be connected to any HDTV. The Universal Wireless HDTV Adapter F7D4555 provides Wi-Fi video streaming to a smart TV, and the Universal Wireless AV Adapter F7D4550 streams content to multiple devices over a wireless network.
The ScreenCast AV 4 transmitter connects up to four home theater devices, such as a Blu-ray player, and streams full-HD 1080p video, 3D video, and up to 5.1 channels of surround sound to a connected HDTV. Range is up to 100 feet. The included infrared emitter allows existing remotes to continue to work with the home theater system.
The Universal Wireless HDTV Adapter adds Wi-Fi connectivity to a single Internet-ready TV. The adapter connects to existing wireless routers in the home network. The Universal Wireless HDTV Adapter is powered by a mini-USB port that connects to any compatible smart TV. Belkin claims it offers superior wireless performance over USB dongles because it connects directly to the TV through the Ethernet port.
The Universal Wireless AV Adapter has four 10/100 Ethernet ports and is designed to stream to multiple components. Devices are connected to the Universal Wireless Adapter, which then accesses the Internet through the existing wireless home network.
The ScreenCast AV 4 Wireless AV-to-HDTV Adapter F7D4515 will be available in October 2011. Retail price is $250. The Universal Wireless HDTV Adapter F7D4555 goes on sale this month for $80. The Universal Wireless AV Adapter F7D4550 also goes on sale this month, with a retail price of $100.
