Bill Murray is negotiating to headline Ted Melfi’s St Vincent de Van Nuys for 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment, Variety reports. Melfi will direct from his own screenplay, which landed on last year’s “Black List” with the following official logline:
When a twelve year old boy in need of a babysitter moves in next door to a misanthropic aging retiree whose life mainly consists of gambling, hookers, and drinking, the elder becomes an unlikely mentor to the boy.
Murray, who appeared earlier this year in Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, can next be seen in Roger Michell’s Hyde Park on the Hudson, planned for release on December 7th.
