New Line‘s two-part remake of Stephen King’s IT looks to be finally gaining momentum again as The Hollywood Reporter brings word that 25-year-old Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard (“Hemlock Grove,” The Divergent Series: Allegiant) has been cast as central villain Pennywise. The young protagonists have also been cast, including Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special), Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”), Jack Dylan Grazer (Tales of Halloween), Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy), Chosen Jacobs (“Hawaii Five-0”) and Jeremy Ray Taylor (42).

Mama filmmaker Andy Muschietti is directing the film, which will be told in two parts, one focused on the group of teens called the Losers Club who defeat a powerful entity, and a second part set around the repercussions on these characters as adults.

The remake of Stephen King’s IT is being produced by Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg, although there is no definitive start date for the project.

The son of actor Stellan Skarsgard and brother of Alexander Skarsgard, Bill Skarsgard is also set to reprise his role as Matthew in The Divergent Series: Ascendant.
