Pre-orders for the BlackBerry Q10 have opened up in the United Kingdom, after a relatively successful launch of the Z10 in the country. Both the Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U chains are taking orders for the keyboard-equipped BB10 smartphone, while the national carriers themselves appear not to have done so.
Phones4U and Carphone Warehouse are relatively similar in pricing the device, offering the Q10 for around £36 ($) per month on a two-year contract, with an option to get the device SIM-free for £580 ($). In terms of incentives, Phones4U are offering the first 300 customers a 64GB BlackBerry Playbook, while Carphone Warehouse are providing a free Bluetooth speaker for every pre-order instead.
The Q10 has a full QWERTY keyboard, a square 3.1-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, and 16GB of internal storage, expandable by up to 64GB via microSD. The rear 8-megapixel camera is paired with a 2-megapixel front-facing version, while options for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC connectivity are also built-in.
Customers can expect to receive their orders by the end of April. No release date has been provided for the device in the US.
