Since word got out about Borderlands 2 being developed for the PlayStation Vita by Iron Galaxy Studios (Divekick), with Sony handling publishing duties, we haven’t heard much about the game, aside from the fact that it’s coming out at some point in 2014 and will have four player co-op.
While retailer listings always need to be taken with a grain of salt, NewEgg.com did recently put up a product page for Borderlands 2 on PS Vita with a release date of Tuesday, March 18th, 2014 and a price of $39.99.
Heads are scratching, since they just used the generic Borderlands 2 description for the Vita version, not mentioning whether it has exclusive features or includes DLC:
Borderlands 2 is a hybrid First-Person Shooter, RPG game focused on over-the-top co-op play, and set in the open-world game environment of the planet Pandora. The second game in the game series, Borderlands 2 raises the ‘loot and shoot’ action of the original game with an even larger and more detailed world to explore, an updated gun system, a new cast of characters and character classes, and integration of storyline with action.
Borderlands 2, sequel to the critically acclaimed and bestselling role-playing-shooter hybrid, once again delivers its unique flavor, characters and addictive nonstop collaborative loot-shoot gameplay. As in the original game, Borderlands 2 features an open world game environment, but this time around the world players experience is larger and packed with more depth at all levels. The game features an all-new cast of characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons, and equipment that come together in a carefully crafted and connected story. Make new friends, arm them to the teeth and fight alongside them on a relentless quest for revenge and redemption through the undiscovered and unpredictable living world of Pandora.
Don’t forget that Borderlands 2 on PS3 is free for PlayStation Plus members right now.
