At their App Developer Challenge in San Francisco, Boxee announced the addition of MLB.tv to their open source media platform. MLB.tv premium subscribers will be able to watch games streamed over the internet on their PC’s or even on their big screen TV’s. The official partnership, made thru Major League Baseball Advanced Media, is Boxee’s first with a live content provider.
Since users are accessing their MLB.tv content through via the Boxee browser, standard blackout policies apply. Avner Ronen, Boxee CEO, said that his company hopes to bring more sports and live evnets to the service soon and his team has been working hard with MLB to give users a high quality visual experience.
