Buffalo has just shipped its latest portable storage product range, the MiniStation Plus. The drives sport a backwards-compatible USB 3.0 port for transfers up to 5Gbps. They are housed in a shockproof chassis, though they’re not rated as rugged drives.
For security, 256-bit encryption and password protection layer on top of the drive. While Macs don’t sport USB 3.0 ports yet, they can still take advantage of the drive like their Windows counterparts at USB 2.0 speeds.
Two versions are on offer, with a 500GB model priced at $85 and a 1TB model trading for $120.
