Another year, another Call of Duty game, but I’m not here to decry the latest release in the franchise as per usual. .
Infinite Warfare propels you to the far future and adds two crucial components: zero G combat and spaceship dog fights. One might worry that floating in the blackness of space in a ship would yield wild movements and motion sickness, but it’s all surprisingly smooth, though with the trademark noisiness and chaos of the series in terms of combat. The zero G combat is even more interesting than the dogfights too, giving the player new equipment and weapons made specifically for this style of fighting.
Activision showed off an Earth bound level. Unfortunately, here is where the series is just another Call of Duty. There is a bright spot, literally, in that the game’s visuals are stunning and also colorful. Previous games have resorted to drab palates, but Infinite Warfare has a color scheme that makes it stand out. Summarily, if you’ve seen a Call of Duty game before you’ve seen this part.
After seeing the “new” material, we were given a treat: a sneak peek at the level “Crew Expendable” from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered campaign.
The good news is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered looks great, the bad news is that you have to buy Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to get it. Luckily Infinite Warfare looks to be an great improvement over the recent fare of Call of Duty games and worth looking at if you’ve away from the series for awhile.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 4. You can pre-order the game by clicking here.
