Carrie Preston is set to star opposite Niecy Nash in Claws, TNT’s dramedy pilot about a nail salon in South Florida.
Produced by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, penned by Eliot Laurence (The Big Gay Sketch Show) and likened in tone to Desperate Housewives, the series follows five employees at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon. Preston will play Polly, a preppy prison parolee who did time for pulling identity theft scams on seniors.
The ensemble thus far also includes Nash (Reno 911) as salon owner Desna, Harold Perrineau (Lost) as Desna’s mentally ill twin brother, Jenn Lyon (Justified) and Karrueche Tran (The Bay).
Preston’s previous TV credits include The Good Wife, Person of Interest and True Blood.
