Showtime has released a teaser trailer and poster art for its upcoming drama series “The Affair,” starring Ruth Wilson, Dominic West, Joshua Jackson and Maura Tierney.
The series will show both the male and female perspective, as Alison (Wilson), a young woman waiting tables at a Hamptons diner, begins an affair with Noah (West), a public school teacher and aspiring novelist. Jackson plays Alison’s financially struggling husband Cole, and Tierney plays Helen, Noah’s wife of 17 years.
The show was created by “House of Cards” writer/EP Sarah Treem with former fellow “In Treatment” scribe Hagai Levi. Both Treem and Levi serve as EPs, along with former “The Wire” EP Eric Overmyer and former “Friday Night Lights” EP Jeffrey Reiner. “The Affair” is set to premiere on Showtime Oct. 12 at 10 p.m.
