Showcasing the entrance to Versace’s opulent Miami mansion as gunshots ring out, it paints the picture to come in this story of the murder of the famed fashion designer (Edgar Ramirez) at the hands of young serial killer Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss).
Ricky Martin co-stars as Gianni’s spouse Antonio D’Amico, and Penelope Cruz plays his sister Donatella. The new series is the second season of the network’s American Crime Story anthology show following the much-lauded The People vs. O.J. Simpson.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story premieres in early 2018.
