Focus Features has premiered the official trailer for the upcoming Robert Redford-produced drama The Mustang starring Matthias Schoenaerts, Connie Britton, Bruce Dern, Jason Mitchell and Josh Stewart.
The story follows a convict in a rural Nevada prison who struggles to escape his violent past, is required to participate in an ‘outdoor maintenance’ program as part of his state-mandated social rehabilitation. He finds his own humanity in gentling an especially unbreakable mustang with the help of a no-nonsense veteran trainer and an outgoing fellow inmate.
Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (Rabbit) helms and co-wrote the script with Mona Fastvold (The Sleepwalker) and Brock Norman Brock (Bronson).
The Mustang, which premieres at Sundance in January, will open in select theaters on March 15th 2019.
