Chris Hardwick has launched new production shingle Spitball and teamed with Blumhouse Productions for a three-picture, first-look deal for films produced under the Blumhouse banner. Hardwick is planning on directing one of the pics and be a creative force on all three.
Hardwick and Jason Blum, founder of Blumhouse, hinted at the collaboration on Hardwick’s most recent Nerdist podcast.
“I’m a die-hard horror fan and have always wanted to be in the horror business,” Hardwick said. “Jason is an AMAZING entrepreneur, a super nice guy, and a brilliant producer who is responsible for putting out SEVERAL of my favorite films, so I am beyond excited for this partnership!”
The deal comes as Hardwick continues to expand his growing empire that includes hosting and executive producing on NBC’s The Wall and a multi-year deal with AMC, which sees him hosting and producing multiple programs for the network, including the highly rated Talking Dead, Talking Dead: Fear Edition, and Talking With Chris Hardwick.
