In a pre-Cannes move, Christopher Walken has joined Jason Bateman and Nicole Kidman in the comedy “The Family Fang.”
Red Crown’s Daniela Taplin Lundberg and Riva Marker are producing, alongside Olympus Pictures’ Leslie Urdang and Dean Vanech, Blossom Films partners Kidman and Per Saari and Aggregate Films partners Bateman and Jim Garavente.
Qed International’s Bill Block and Red Crown’s Dan Crown are exec producing. Qed will begin foreign sales at Cannes.
Principal photography will commence in July with Bateman directing in his follow-up to “Bad Words.” “The Family Fang” is based on David Lindsay-Abaire’s adaptation of the novel by Kevin Wilson.
Bateman and Kidman will portray siblings who grew up in a performance artist family and learn the hard way about the differences between real life and art when their parents inexplicably disappear. Walken will play the siblings’ father Caleb Fang.
