Back in November, well before the first issue was even released, it was revealed that Robert Kirkman’s latest comic series “Outcast” was in development at Cinemax. Now the prolific comic creator has revealed via Twitter that Cinemax is moving forward with the pilot with pre-production expected to begin shortly.
“Despite the success of The Walking Dead, Outcast is only my second foray into the horror genre,” Kirkman said previously. “I think Kyle Barnes is every bit as compelling as Rick Grimes and demonic possession is way scarier than zombies–so this is going to be fun.”
No further details are known about the series, save for Kirkman writing the pilot episode, but expect to hear more as production on the pilot nears.
“Outcast” follows Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a journey to find answers but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.
