The upcoming Inner City movie appears to have added another star today as The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Colin Farrell is in talks to join Denzel Washington in the new project from Nightcrawler’s Dan Gilroy. Inner City marks Gilroy’s second feature film as both writer and director.
Inner City will follow Washington as a Los Angeles-based legal researcher. Following the death of his mentor, the lawyer is approached by a ruthless law firm that wants his help. Colin Farrell will play the slick lawyer that recruits Washington’s character.
Dan Gilroy earned himself an Academy Award nomination for his original Nightcrawler screenplay. Prior to sitting in the director’s chair on the 2014 thriller, Gilroy made a name for himself as a screenwriter, scripting films like Freejack, The Fall and The Bourne Legacy.
Jennifer Fox, who previously worked with Gilroy on Nightcrawler, will again serve as producer on the Inner City movie. Check back for further casting updates on the project as they become available.
