Comcast just announced that its Xfinity TV app is now available for Android 3.0-powered tablets such as Motorola’s Xoom. The free app allows Comcast cable subscribers to browse TV listings by area and browse On Demand libraries as well as search either database. The Xoom is guaranteed to support the app, but other Android 3.1 tablets with a 1280×800 resolution should also support the new app.
They can also filter content by type, network, resolution, cost and other criteria. The app and tablet work as a remote control as well, letting users tune to On Demand content or change channels, as well as schedule DVR recordings. Viewers need a compatible Comcast set-top box.
