Dennis Haysbert has joined the cast of “Undercover,” the limited series set to air next year on the BBC and BBC America. The six-part series penned by Peter Moffat revolves around parallel stories that unfold in the U.S. and U.K. in different time periods. Haysbert plays a man who has been wrongly imprisoned and on death row for 20 years in the U.S. Sophie Okonedo and Adrian Lester co-star as a British couple whose lives become intertwined with the Haysbert’s character.
“Undercover” is shooting in Louisiana and in the U.K. James Dawes and Jim O’Hanlon are directing. The project is the first series jointly developed by the BBC and AMC Networks since AMC took control of the Beeb’s BBC America cabler last year.
